Roofrack Ragamuffins was founded in 2013 by husband and wife team Allun & Nichola Davies. After struggling to source display suitcases for their VW Beetle they had the vision of bringing vintage suitcases and trunks to the VW community after discovering one in a friends attic. They now carefully search the country wide and far to source the best vintage luggage and steamer trunks available. Ranging from the immaculately restored items to the popular ‘rat-look’ items to complement any style of classic car. Fast-forward to 2014 and the dining room and garage at home just could not hold the increasing amount of stock that they are now currently holding to supply the whole of South Wales and further afield. Now trading on social networks, Facebook, Twitter (@RagamuffinsLTD), Instagram (Ragamuffins_Emporium) and of course Ebay.
Allun also took a small space in an Emporium in Newport. Very first small space in a Newport Emporium They now are one of the biggest suppliers of vintage luggage in the South Wales area, supplying companies with display items and customers with that ‘just right” item to fit the bill perfectly. In fact they will go out of their way to source the exact item to fill your requirements, such is their dedication to customer care. They specialise in antique, industrial and vintage luggage, wooden chests, travel trunks and various types of metal trunks/boxes they stock items from the turn of the 20th century, right up to the 1980’s. Next, also branching out into other Retro items such as crates, radios, hessian coffee sacks and basically anything thats unusual but retro looking.

Later we were also on the BBC's Antiques Road show in the January of 2019.
* * * * * In September 2018 the name Roofrack Ragamuffins didn't really explain the nature of the business anymore so a name change was implemented. We dropped the “Roofrack” part as we no longer solely supply suitcases etc to dress the roof racks of vehicles. So we are now known as Ragamuffins.
Another update to our story As of Saturday 27th October 2018, Ragamuffins has a new home and is now called Ragamuffins Emporium. The business has gone from strength to strength and the decision to find a larger “home” for Ragamuffins had been made. The opportunity of moving to the empty Barclays Bank, Pontypool came up and Allun wanted to open up an Emporium, including other local vintage and retro businesses. We now host a large number of traders over 2 floors. During 2019 Allun filmed with Dickinson's Real Deal, the airing of this was delayed as it was due to be aired during 2020 but filming for the rest of the series was delayed due to restrictions. During 2020 when Covid-19 restrictions were lifted we experienced socially distanced filming. We again filmed with the BBC for Antiques Road trip with Philip Serrell. He bought from us and one of our traders. This episode was aired at the end of 2020. January 2021 the Dickinson's Real Deal episode is due to be aired.
